Founder & Clinical Director, Gyan Psyche | Head of Projects, NATURE NGO
RCI-Registered Clinical Psychologist | Educator | PhD Scholar
My journey began with a BSc (Honours) in Psychology with Counselling Skills at Middlesex University, Dubai. It laid the foundation for understanding human behaviour and appreciating how much it matters to feel heard.
At Swansea University, UK, I completed my MSc in Abnormal and Clinical Psychology with Merit. Studying across cultures broadened my perspective, while my research explored perfectionism, procrastination, anxiety and depression.
I returned to India to complete an MSc in Clinical Psychology at SRIHER, Chennai, with First Class, followed by an MPhil in Clinical Psychology at MAHE, Manipal. These years helped me connect academic knowledge with the responsibility of caring for people.
My experiences at Behavior Enrichment, Rashid Hospital and Parivarthan Special School brought me closer to children and families with different needs. Working alongside parents and educators deepened my appreciation for patience, flexibility and shared support.
At MAHE, I provided psychotherapy and psychological assessments for children, adolescents and adults. These experiences strengthened my commitment to thoughtful, individualised care. My continuing learning includes EMDR, alongside cognitive, behavioural and trauma-focused approaches.
As an Assistant Professor at MAHE, I taught psychology, guided dissertations and mentored students. I also supervised clinical psychology trainees and supported psychiatry residents and psychiatric social work students. Helping others grow became a meaningful part of my own growth.

Today, I am the Founder and Clinical Director of Gyan Psyche, Head of Projects at NATURE NGO, and a PhD scholar in Psychology. These roles bring together the parts of my work I hold close: caring for people, supporting professionals and contributing to communities.
At Gyan Psyche, I provide psychotherapy and psychological assessments while guiding the clinic’s clinical direction, mentoring clinicians and offering supervision and training.
Our services bring together clinical psychology, psychiatry and psychiatric social work, alongside speech therapy and special education. We support children, adolescents, adults, couples and families, recognising that care needs to make room for each person’s experiences, relationships and everyday circumstances.
For me, building Gyan Psyche means creating a space where people feel heard, and where professionals can learn, reflect and grow together.
Alongside my clinical and leadership roles, I am pursuing my PhD in Psychology at Vignan’s Foundation for Science, Technology & Research. Research keeps me curious and encourages me to keep questioning, learning and strengthening the care I offer.
As Head of Projects at NATURE NGO, I contribute to the planning and coordination of community-focused initiatives. This work keeps me connected to the wider social circumstances that influence well-being.
NATURE also holds a personal place in my journey. My husband, Vikas Saravakota, serves as its Director, bringing a meaningful connection between our life together and our community work.

My hope is to grow Gyan Psyche into a space where people feel understood in the fullness of their lives, with care that considers their health, emotions, relationships and social circumstances.
I envision psychiatry, clinical psychology and psychiatric social work working closely together, each contributing to a shared understanding of the person seeking support. I want their needs, preferences and goals to guide care, with professionals learning from one another along the way.

Through teaching, supervision and skills training, I hope to nurture professionals who practise with curiosity, compassion and sound clinical judgement. I want Gyan Psyche to remain a place where questions are welcomed and learning continues.
Through my work at NATURE NGO, and alongside Vikas, I hope to strengthen the connection between mental health care and community support, contributing to initiatives grounded in people’s everyday realities.
At the heart of this vision is a simple wish: to help people feel understood and supported as they find their own way forward.
We understand the challenges of attending therapy during work hours, which is why our clinical psychology services begin when yours end, providing flexible options for those seeking psychotherapy and trauma-informed care.
